Happy young gardeners who have just planted their "bed of flowers".

The Children’s Garden

Have you noticed the little garden within the garden in the southeast corner of Picardo?

If you have not wandered down there this summer, do so! You will find a lovely oasis where families have been creating all kinds of wonderful little gardens, secret spaces and where volunteers have been growing food to eat and donate to the food bank. Here is an example of how learning can be hands-on and building community produces concrete benefits! You will find themed gardens like a pizza garden, "garden bed", cutting flower garden, Asian garden, square foot garden, a bean teepee, umbrella garden, pallet garden, companion garden, trellis garden and more! Sit on the barn porch, contemplate the burgeoning growth and better yet, volunteer to help keep it all growing!

Do you have a skill you can share with families in the garden? A class you can teach? Bring it on down to the farm!
